Later on Christmas Day we went to my parents house to celebrate. Nice we did not have to travel far b/c the next day we got tons of snow. We opened gifts and had a yummy dinner. I think the kids were done after dinner...long day.

Our Christmas...

Growing up I would always be away for Christmas. We would go to my dads side for Christmas Eve and my mom's for Christmas Day. We would celebrate our Christmas before we left town. It was a great tradition. I miss it...but it is also nice having my own little ones and starting new traditions. We plan on being home on Christmas morning. Boy is it fun. I woke up and saw Sam just standing and looking at all the gifts with such amazment. He was so excited. We let them open stockings and the gifts from Santa, then we sang to Jesus and had a yummy"cake" for breakfast. Then we opened all our other gifts.
The kids putting out the cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve. We decided not to leave milk b/c we didn't want it to get warm. Before the opening madness.Sam playing with his Santa Gift....The Batman Castle.

We had a great Christmas 2009. Hope everyone else had one as well!

3rd Christmas...

Our 3rd Christmas was on Christmas eve. We went to church at 4 and satwith Memaw and watched Papa sing. I think it is nice for the kids to watch their Papa sing. I use to go watch my grandpa sing on Christmas eve too.

Then we went to their house and had dinner and opened gifts! Memaw with the kids. All in red!
Showing off the snowman they helped make for them.

Helping Memaw open her gifts. Thanks for everything Memaw and Papa. We had a great time and enjoy all our gifts!

1st Christmas

Me and the kids went to Missouri the weekend before Christmas. Mike stayed home and put up a backsplash in the kitchen. Need to get a good picture of that and post too. We went town to my mom's side for a couple nights and we ended our visit at my Aunt Kathy's house to celebrate Christmas with my dad's side.
Mom with most of her siblings eating and laughing it up. Aunt Janet is showing off her awesome eye lashes!!
Katelyn liked my cousin Brandon. He had just spent the day hunting. On my dad's side....Here are all the great grand kids (except Ben and Lily) pretending to be taking a nap!
Santa and Mrs. Claus came to see them all and gave them gifts. Katelyn did not like him again. Maybe next year.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!!!

Happy Holiday's Everyone!!

I feel horrible that this is the way I am communicating this year for Christmas. I just did not get around to making Christmas cards. Me and the kids are headed to Missouri this weekend to visit family, while Mike stays behind and puts up a backsplash in our kitchen!! Then with making cookies, getting everyone shopped for, having a 2 and 4 year old, and a part time job...well, it just did not get done ;( Maybe next year!

Thanks to everyone that has sent cards. We love getting them! The kids love to open them. Got them to do it really slow so they don't tear them into pieces.

I was never much of a Christmas letter writer. I just would send a picture and sign the card. If you follow the blog you can see what we have been up to this year! We just continue to raise our two beautiful kids the best way we know how. They have made our life so much merrier at Christmas and all year round :)

Have a wonderful rest of 2009 and Best wishes in 2010 (WOW...2o10...now that is crazy)

Visit with Santa 2009

We are lucky to get to see Santa at Dadoe's Job. Katelyn did not like him or Mrs Claus this year so I had to be in the picture with them...but they also have a bunch of stuff set up that they can pose for pictures. This one was my favorite! Katelyn was not really tall enough but thought it was cute.
This is what I get when I ask Katelyn to say cheese or smile. Nice huh?!

Found a big teddy bear they wanted to pose with too.

And here is our best picture with Santa. Oh well. Maybe next year ;)

Story Hour with Katelyn

We did a story hour together while Sam was at school. This is her last day. We will do it again. Since Katelyn has an October birthday she will be home with me all school year next year while Sam is in school. :) These are some boots we are borrowing from my cousin Heather. She didnt like them at first. Then I had Sam say how cool and pretty they were and now she wears them for me all the time!
You can't tell but she was being a little stinker this day. She has the fit mastered.

Right before the fit. ;) Cute.

Doing a puppet show for mommy before the story hour!

Trip to Missouri

We went to visit my cousin Jill and all the Schweigerts came to have a visit. The Greminers came too...it was a big family reunion. Fun times. Here is Sam with some of the kids..The kids dancing or playing hot pumpkin...not sure but Sam looks like he is having fun.Aren't they cute!Katelyn loved Tigger (Carly). They did a Scavenger Hunt and then played a game. Thought this was cute of Sam.

Happy Halloween....in December! It has been a busy month or so. But still wanted to update a few pictures of our Hallween. We had so much fun.

The kids got to trick or treat twice! Once in downtown Bloomington to all the buisnesses. Sam wanted to be Superman and Katelyn was a monkey when we trick or treated outside.Went and got some pictures with the Heils. Cute lil lobster.
