Update

Just a quick update from Sam's 4th Birthday Blog when I mentioned my grandpa. My mom was able to get to Missouri on Wednesday. My grandpa was doing ok that day. My dad said he said hello and talked about the weather like he always does. Since then he has quickly gone downhill. Would still appreciate your prayers for him and our family.

This will be my last grandparent (on my side, we still have Mikes grandpa Bob and grandma Rosie with us in Kansas!). I have been so very blessed to have had all 4 of my grandparents in my life up until I was almost 30 years old. It was nice to see my children with most of them for a little while. I hope my children are as lucky as I have been and have their grandparents for just as long.

Sam's 4th Birthday weekend (yes, I said weekend :)

Sam had a great Birthday weekend. Hard to believe he is 4. I know, I have said that before. We started the Birthday WEEKEND on Thursday. When I asked what he wanted to do for his birthday he said he wanted to have Josh, and Lexi over. And Chloe and Carter. So, that is what we did. We had them over for a playdate/birthday party. We played games, ate lunch and cupcakes and opened gifts. Sam had a scobby theme. He had his Scooby shirt and underware out on his chair for days ready to wear for his birthday party! TO cute.

Here is the gang that came over. Sam, Carter, Chloe, Lexi, Lindsay, Natalie and Joshua.

Here is the Birthday boy with the cupcakes that his momma made for him. They were a hit. The kids had scooby mac n cheese for lunch and fruit. It turned out to be a great party.

This is him with one of his gifts. We made a puppet later on after everyone left! He has since taken it apart so many times an eye and ear are missing but it was a good time!

We made pizza Thursday night. Here is him eating the cheese more then putting it on the pizza! Friday Sam and I went to Rising Star Open Gym. We had not been there for awhile. IT was a lot of fun. He really liked the pit with foam squares and jumping around. I forgot to take my camera in with me.

Friday night we went out to eat to Culvers and he got a free ice cream sundae for his birthday. His sister liked it about as much as he did. She is so my Grandma Schweigert (everyone that knew her knows what I mean there :)

Saturday we had Nana, G-Bob, Memaw and Papa over to celebrate (which was his actual birthday and Valentines Day!

Momma likes this pictures. He is just so sweet. I have to say he is a polite little guy. I told him to thank his grandparents after he opened gifts. He went to each one and hugged them and thanked them. Then he hugged his sister, me and Dadoe and thanked us and told me he loved me. I cried a few tears. I just love him so much.

Sunday we just went to church and came home and played with all our toys. It was a fun filled weekend had by all. Thanks to everyone for the gifts and well wishes! Here he is playing with one of his many cool toys. THis and his leapster games are his favorites by grandparents and his favorite from mommy and dadoe....

Hulk hands that roar and make all kinds of noise! He is showing how he can be mean like the hulk!

And you have to get the sister in at least one picture. She put these on today all by herself. :)

I will probably update again soon with some more pictures of the kids and maybe even more from his birthday. Our battery went out before cake on Saturday so I am hoping Memaw or Nana have a few cute ones to share!

Oh, and anyone that is visiting please add my Grandpa Proffer to your prayers. He got very sick earlier this month and now they are saying he only has a few days to live. Pray that my mom gets to see him before he passes (she is home sick right now with that horrible stomach flu) and that he goes peacefully and finds my Grandma Proffer in Heaven. I love you Grandpa.
Thank you,
Michelle

My little Man!

As we get closer and closer to my first born's 4th birthday I just cant believe how lucky I am. My son is such a sweet little man. I have ton's of smile wrinkles because of him, but those are the wrinkles I don't mind one bit. I love when he comes downstairs in the morning and says..Good Morning mommy. How he takes such good care of his little sister. Coming home from the hospital with Katelyn and as she was crying he started to sing...Go to sleep Baby Katie...Go to sleep Baby Girl. How he makes me pictures now with MOM and SAM and hearts and tells me he loves me. I could go on and on and on... I just told Mike tonight when Katelyn was laughing and Sam was running around in his new larryboy cape how I wish I could freeze them right now.

I just thought I would update a few pictures of my little man. He will always be my little boy (even though he told me he is a big boy....and when he grows up he wants to be called Mike. :) NOt sure where he got that one from!
I love you to pieces Sam, you are my best friend, my little superhero, and my favorite little man.

Sam wearing his superman PJ's. Him and Baby Girl reading.

Sam wearing his new Larryboy cape! He wears his pirate hat sideways and says it is his larryboy hat!

Sam in his batman cape and mask. Thank you Nana. He kept putting one on. Ran around, then changed to another cape and ran around. He loves them!
Oldies but goodies!!!!!!!!!
Sam with his favorite book when he was little. We used it for his 1st birthday theme. Kate is wearing these pj's in the picture above. She fills them out more :)

.I just love his face in this picture. I see a lot of his little sister in him too.

Sam on Halloween one year. He was a construction worker. His other tattoo said MOM with a heart around it.
Mommy with the best son ever. Don't you just love those chubby cheeks! I hope you grow up to do wonderful things and be whatever you want to be. Today, you wanted to be a chef :) Mommy could get use to that!
Love,
Mom

Just wanted to update some Christmas pictures. We had a nice Christmas. We just stayed close to home. Got to see both grandparents and the kids cousins, aunts and uncles!
Us at my parents celebrating Christmas.
The kids before and during Christmas presents on Christmas morning at our house! Sam really got into it this year. Was super excited to see Santa ate our cookies and he kept saying....That is just what I wanted after he opened every gift. To cute!

This is my two and my nephew Ben at Nana and G-Bob's house celebrating. Look at all those presents. WOW.

Sam and Ben both got some cool PJ's!! They even light up!

The kids with all their cousins before and during presents at Memaw and Papa's house. They are all so cute. Fun times. Love the collection of burette's in Aunt Nancy's hair. :)

And, just a cute little video of Baby Girl. This is what she does when she thinks you are taking a picture of her. She just smiles ear to ear and her eyes end up closing in the process. She loves playing music and dancing!

OK. Off to the Party store with Sam to find some Scobby Dobby (how he says it) stuff for his Birthday. My baby is going to be 4 in less then a month :(

Love,

Michelle

Merry Christmas letter

Christmas 2008

I thought I would do a little Christmas letter on the blog in case anyone cared to see what has been going on with us. I did a few Christmas cards this year (see above) but not enough to reach out to everyone so figured I would do it this way as well.

We have had a fun year. We are enjoying our two kids grow like little weeds...or I should say into beautiful flowers! They are adorable...but we are biased of course.

We moved into a home that we built this past May. We really LOVE being back in town and 5-10 min. from EVERYTHING! We chose to make our house green....a little different from the rest of the houses in the neighborhood but we like it and have got many compliments from the neighbors about it.

Sam started Pre-school in Sept. and loves it. His favorite friends are Chloe and Carter. Luckly they are very well behaved and probably the sweetiest kids in class so that makes me happy! There is one little boy (that will remain nameless) that is not so great. I was in Sam's class all day last week and he hit Sam on the head, he was crying, yelling, not doing ANYTHING he was told. At one point I thought we lost him but he was under the table. The kids told me that is where he was....must do that often. It is sad to see, but on the other hand makes me a little annoyed that he has to get all the attention and all the other kids are just doing what they are told. At least it is only one kid I guess I we can be thankful for that (trying to find a positive for every negative these days :)

Sam and Carter

Sam and Chloe

Katelyn is getting so big. She is walking (almost running), loves to eat, and watch her brother. She also beats up on him. She is one strong cookie. Sam is pretty good with her, but he has his days!
I have been with Burwood for a year+ now and love it. It is so great to work from home, part-time, get paid well, and be able to stay home with my babies and watch them grow (thanks dear!)! I hope to do it for many years to come. I know I will need to get another full time job down the road and it would be nice to stay with them, we will see! Mike is at State Farm and loves every minute of his work week (Joke). Our favorite thing to do is just sit and watch the kids play. We are so very blessed.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!!

This & That

Just wanted to update some recent pictures of the kids. This was them one morning before breakfast. :)
Just a picture I took of Katie that I liked. She looks so cute with stuff in her hair but she doesn't keep it in for long.
Tried to get a picture of them for the Christmas card. Did not go so well. This would have been a good one if Katie was not putting her hand up to Sam's face!

Another morning before we went to the store. Sam decided he wanted to do Katies hair :)
Sam wanted me to add this one. He went to his first ISU Basketball game last weekend (Thanks Mark and Marla for sharing your tickets with us)!

Taking pictures at State Farm. Again, not an easy task to get the two of them to look at the camera at the same time AND smile nice :(

Just like this one, holding hands. And it shows Katies cute outfit (Thanks Nana & G-Bob)
Almost perfect. If only she was showing off her adorable smile and Sam did not have a big ole stye in his eye. They are pretty darn perfect to me anyway :)
We got to take our own pictures this year. This was the first. The second and third were pretty much the same....then....
We got her to calm down and stop crying! Not bad. We plan on starting to bake some Christmas goodies next week so I am sure there will be more pictures to come. Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday season!!!
